My mission is simple: combine technical skills, strategy, and creativity to craft innovative designs and experiences that capture the eye, evoke emotions, and inspire people.

Design, art, and most other creative forms have always been an outlet for me and serve as somewhat of an escape from reality. From a young age, I was always enthralled and inspired by the movies, video games, and other forms of media and entertainment that eight-year-old David would consume. It is this very inspiration that fuels my passion for any creative work I undertake today.

When I think back to specific scenes that truly inspired me, I think of scenes like Woody and Buzz Lightyear euphorically soaring through the sky on their way to reunite with Andy after just narrowly escaping an explosive demise in Pixar’s first 3d animated film, Toy Story. Or the omnipotent Rayquaza descending down from the heavens to put an end to the cataclysmic battle between Groudon and Kyogre in Nintendo’s Pokemon Emerald. And even Steve Jobs single-handedly transforming the landscape of smartphones after unveiling Apple's very first iPhone to an enthusiastic audience. The common thread among all these instances is that behind the scenes, extraordinarily talented minds employed their technical skills, creativity, and a touch of innovation to craft truly magical experiences. It was moments like these that captivated me, momentarily transported me from reality, and really made me believe that anything was possible.

Now, as a (mostly) full-grown adult, I may not be creating 3D animated films (yet), developing the next Pokemon game (yet), or revealing the next iPhone (yet). However, what I can do is, as stated before, combine my technical skills and creativity to create innovative work and experiences that capture the eye, evoke emotions, and leave a lasting impression on people. Just like the work of Pixar, Nintendo, and Apple left a lasting impression on young little 8-year-old David. Creating work that inspires even one person would bring me fulfillment as a designer.

Apart from that, I’m a first-generation college graduate. I also have an older brother who is an engineer at Google. I’m into all the usual things that millennials are into such as video games, social justice issues, weight lifting, spending time in nature, vegan soy avocado toast lattes, etc. But now, after all of this rambling, it's time to bring this to a close. Thank you for having read this far and I hope to have the opportunity to create inspiring work alongside you in the near future!

-David
